You Can Be a Yearbook Angel

A MESSAGE FROM THE ASTEC YEARBOOK SPONSOR:
Dear Potential Donor,
Do you know where your high school yearbook is? It may be up in the attic collecting dust or it could be stored in a box of keepsakes under the Christmas decorations in a closet. But wherever it is, it is something that you wouldn't think of throwing out.
Our high school yearbook captures a time of our lives that is truly unforgettable. We never forget our high school friends and often wonder what has happened to them. I tell my students that they should make the most of this time and not take it for granted.
I am a teacher at ASTEC Charter High School which is housed in Shepherd Mall. In fact, our school is in the facility that we knew as T.G.&Y. many years ago. Our school population is very diverse and, unfortunately, nearly ninety percent of our families are economically challenged and qualify for the free-or-reduced lunch program.
Each year many of our students are not able to purchase a high school yearbook. I have decided to do something about that and have created a way for you and I to make sure that every student who is truly in need will receive a yearbook. You may contribute to this program by donating $40.00 to the ASTEC Yearbook. Funds from this program will be used to provide yearbooks and to keep the cost of our yearbook from increasing to help make it affordable/to others.
Sincerly,
Dr. Bill Speath Yearbook Sponsor
