High School Mathematics Teachers

Mr. Ali Askari- High School Mathematics Teacher

Ali Askari
is originally from the country of Iran. He moved to the United States in 1978.   He worked his way through college earning a degree in Engineering Physics at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.  He has also attended the University of Oklahoma and University of Central Oklahoma where he has completed some graduate courses in Engineering Physics.

Mr. Askari has recently found his love in teaching after substituting for several years.  He has also done private tutoring for high school students.  Mr. Askari has an alternative certification to teach advanced high school math and intermediate math.

This will be Mr. Askari’s second year to teach.  He will be teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry.


Ms. Pamela Harris

Pamela Harris
graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in Secondary Education with the emphasis on business.

After working in the business world for over twenty-five years, Mrs. Harris obtained two Associates Degrees, one in liberal arts and one in computer programming, and her Bachelors in Education.  A former Navy wife, she has lived in Connecticut, Florida, Virginia, and has returned to her home state, Oklahoma.  She has taught a total of 8 years, with 7 of those years at Newcastle, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Harris has two sons, Ken and Conor, and three grandchildren; Brett, Christian, and Shylah, with another due in November.


Mr. Steve Reid- High School Mathematics Teacher

Steve Reid
graduated from the University of Oklahoma with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics.

After working as an engineer for 3M corporation in Weatherford, OK, he joined the Peace Corps and taught mathematics and science for three years at a small rural school in the western region of Ghana, West Africa. After returning to the United States Mr. Reid completed an alternative certification program while teaching at Wewoka High School.

He joined the faculty of ASTEC and taught mathematics for two years until he and his wife signed a contract to teach at the American School of Antananarivo in Madagascar for two years. Now he is back in the United States and teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Precalculus.
