Ms. Gayle Edwards - High School Mathematics Teacher
Gayle Edwards received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. She currently has state teaching certifications in early childhood education, middle school and high school math.
For the last ten years, Ms. Edwards has high school math in Midwest City and Oklahoma City school districts. While she is not teaching, she enjoys working outside and planting flowers in her garden. She also enjoys spin class at the gym.

Mr. Ali Askari- High School Mathematics Teacher
Ali Askari is originally from the country of Iran. He moved to the United States in 1978. He worked his way through college earning a degree in Engineering Physics at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. He has also attended the University of Oklahoma and University of Central Oklahoma where he has completed some graduate courses in Engineering Physics.
Mr. Askari has recently found his love in teaching after substituting for several years. He has also done private tutoring for high school students. Mr. Askari has an alternative certification to teach advanced high school math and intermediate math.
This will be Mr. Askari’s second year to teach. He will be teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry.

Mr. Steve Reid- High School Mathematics Teacher
Steve Reid graduated from the University of Oklahoma with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics.
After working as an engineer for 3M corporation in Weatherford, OK, he joined the Peace Corps and taught mathematics and science for three years at a small rural school in the western region of Ghana, West Africa. After returning to the United States Mr. Reid completed an alternative certification program while teaching at Wewoka High School.
He joined the faculty of ASTEC and taught mathematics for two years until he and his wife signed a contract to teach at the American School of Antananarivo in Madagascar for two years. Now he is back in the United States and teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Precalculus.
