Welcome to ASTEC . . . . . "Dream and Believe, Learn and Achieve"

Middle School Office

Ms. Misti Ashford- Middle School Principal

Misti Ashford
grew up in Southeastern, Oklahoma and attended college at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha.  It was while attending Interdisciplinary Courses at USAO that she learned to appreciate cross-curriculum instruction. Ashford earned her degree in communications and was named editor of a small national magazine that covered the sport of rodeo prior to graduation.  She also co-founded a small marketing firm that specialized in promoting equine events primarily on the East Coast.  Ashford then began working at Government Information Tracking (GIT) as editor of Capitol Network News a daily newsletter that covered the Oklahoma state legislature.  Although marketing and writing have always been close to her heart, a short stint as a substitute teacher in a rural public school convinced her to explore education.  She has worked as a teacher, curriculum coordinator and finally as a middle school principal at ASTEC since its second year as a charter school.

Mrs. Belinda Armstrong- Middle School Assistant Principal

Belinda Armstrong
was born in Mexico City, Mexico and grew up in the United States. She graduated from Putnam City West in 1981 and attended college on a partial volleyball scholarship at Southern Nazarene University.

After graduating in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, she went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Business Management. Armstrong began her teaching career when she worked for a company called ExecuTrain instructing adults in the use of Microsoft Office programs specializing in MS Access.

Mrs. Armstrong came to ASTEC the second year it was a school as a teacher and technical support provider. While at ASTEC she has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade technology classes, while assisting with the school's network and maintenance of computers. Her most recent accomplishments at ASTEC have been becoming Technology Director for ASTEC and serving as Middle School Assistant Principal. Armstrong enjoys working with students outside of the classroom on more of a mentoring level. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Glen and their seven-year-old daughter Sara. She is an avid golfer.

Ms. Stella Ross- Middle School Counselor

Stella Mora Ross, M.Ed., LPC
